SINE
DESIGNED AT ÉCOLE DUPERRÉ PARIS

Because sound has a unique and powerful impact on how we perceive space, I asked myself how could the ambiant sound become a specific mode of understanding, and creating, shapes and spaces? Sine is an attempt to generating an architectural follie directly rooted in the sound space of its settlement.

As an experimental research, I recorded sounds in the Bois de Vincennes, in Paris, combining natural, human and artificial sounds. Subjected to an oscillation generator, these sounds create precise volumes corresponding to the frequencies of the recordings, that we could then apply to architecture, or urban furniture.

The goal is to create urban objects capable of embodying and informing the complexity of sound urbanity.
